About Judy Corcoran

Judy Corcoran works as a freelance copywriter, copyeditor, project manager and author from her home in New York City. She specializes in magazine and internet marketing and has worked on staff and freelance at some of the country’s largest and most successful magazines including Better Homes and Gardens, Vogue, Town & Country, American Way, Real Simple, Popular Mechanics, Golf Digest, Inc., Shape and U.S. News & World Report.

She is the co-author of Joint Custody With a Jerk: Raising a Child With an Uncooperative Ex (St. Martins, 2010 and 1996) and Volleyball: Playing With Your Head at Any Height (Wish Publishing, 2006). She also wrote and published The Concise Guide to Magazine Marketing: Tips, Tools and Best Practices with Renée Martin, which is used by the Magazine Publishers of America and New York University as a text book.

Judy spent two years writing and researching Fred Corcoran: The Man Who Sold the World on Golf, which is about her father. It is based on his book, Unplayable Lies with Bud Harvey, and tells how Fred promoted the sport of golf, taking it from a minor curiosity to a major business. Like she says in the book’s introduction, “I wish I knew him now rather than when I was a teenager. He was a ‘rock star’ of golf.”
